2024 Foal Watching Resources

Every year we see several posts that say something like this "Where do I find the list of the foals born this year??" So we have pulled together some of our favorite resources to help you get the most out of this foaling season and not miss a thing! ​

- CHINCOTEAGUE VOLUNTEER FIRE CO.(CVFC)
The CVFC owns the ponies that are on the Virginia side of Assateague, they post all the information and updates throughout the year. Be sure you follow them on Facebook for all of the official roundup, auction, and pony information.

- Chincoteague Pony Pedigree Database(CPPD)
Our partner the CPPD is a FANTASTIC resource for searching foal bloodlines, past auction prices and foal name availability. You can also access the past herd, current herd, and search for ponies by name! - DSC Photography
DSC Photography independently tracks the current Chincoteague pony herd and will have the majority of the photos and information for the 2024 foals. We HIGHLY recommend following their page for foal photos and information. Especially if you are thinking of buying a foal. - Identifying Chincoteague Ponies Website(ICPW)
Do you love the ponies but struggle to learn their names and identify them? Be sure to follow ICPW’s Facebook page and their website. They provide a wonderful resource with search engines to help you identify the ponies you are viewing or have taken photographs of. This can be very helpful when you are considering buying a foal and are having trouble identifying which mare the foal is out of or if you just want to get better at IDing members of the herd in general.
