Why ICPAR Collects Data ICPAR uses the information we collect from the various ways you engage with us for the following purposes:
To preserve the integrity of the Chincoteague Pony breed registry through properly recording registration and ownership information.
To serve our Association members by communicating effectively with them through a variety of methods, including postal mail, phone, email, facsimile and other types of correspondence.
To provide our Association and community members with helpful information from the ICPAR.
To improve our services by learning about and communicating with the people our services impact the most: you, our Association and community members around the world.
To give ICPAR staff information that is useful for developing new services that meet community needs.
It is important for you to know that the ICPAR does not release names or contact information to any outside organization. We do not sell information to any other organization.
We may disclose any collected information, including personally identifiable information, if:
The disclosure is necessary or useful to our provision of services
We believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, interests, or property
We are acting in good faith to protect your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request
We believe in good faith the disclosure is required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, search warrant, court order, or similar legal or administrative process
We have written permission from an individual to release a their name and/or contact information
Although members, subscribers or other guests under 18 years of age are allowed to participate in some activities, publication of contest winners’ names, ages or images for individuals under 18 requires parental or guardian consent.
Identifying Information You can visit the website without telling us who you are or providing any information about yourself. The ICPAR will have access to identifying information when you send it, such as:
Submit a registration application
Place an order through the shop
Provide feedback or tell us about an idea or suggestion through the contact form
In these instances, the ICPAR will ask for your name, address, e-mail address, phone number and other appropriate information needed to provide you with these services.
Pedigree Database Information about your pony will be loaded into the Chincoteague Pony Pedigree Database (CPPD) upon registration. The database is publicly available. We will not add your name, farm name, or website link to pony records without your permission. If your pony is not registered with ICPAR then your name may appear in the CPPD if it is publicly known that you own an individual pony. In this case you must reach out to the CPPD to have the record changed if you wish to remain anonymous.
Classifieds & Link Submissions The material that appears on pages linked to the categories "Classifieds" and "Links" are for informational purposes only. The International Chincoteague Pony Association & Registry LLC (ICPAR)is not responsible for, and does not guarantee, the condition, soundness, health, physical appearance, performance, or any other aspect of any such animal, item or service or the accuracy, completeness, or content of any listing on said pages. We disclaim all liability in regards to the listed animals, farms, people, and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such information by you, any visitor to this page, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents. ICPAR has no affiliation with the listed websites in those categories and is not responsible for any of their web content.
When you submit a form to a category under "Classifieds" or "Links" you are certifying that you are the owner of the farm/horse/business/etc. and that all information you submit in the application is true and correct to your personal knowledge. You agree that the International Chincoteague Pony Association & Registry LLC (ICPAR) has the privilege to correct, distribute online or by social media platforms and/or cancel the listing at its discretion for any reason. Any fraudulent statements, abusive animal acts or unethical practices that are reported to ICPAR (in regards to the listing) will be cause for the listing to be terminated and removed from the ICPAR website at ICPAR's discretion.
reCAPTCHA This site uses reCAPTCHA3, a free service from Google, that places an invisible reCAPTCHA on all contact forms on this site which will determine if a bot is being used to submit the contact form, and then block that submission.
