ICPAR partners with the Chincoteague Pony Pedigree Database. All ICPAR registered ponies have the ICPAR logo on their database record. Other registries are listed by name on the record. Ponies do not have to be registered with the ICPAR or any registry to be submitted to the database. Ponies being in the database does not mean they are registered with the ICPAR or any other registry.
Access to the database is open and free. For additions or corrections to the database please contact the database directly. Submissions to the database will be vetted. CPPD reserves the right to change submissions to the database if there is sufficient evidence to do so.
Non-Chincoteague Ponies that were crossed into the breed have a database record but their pedigrees are not listed. Half Chincoteagues are accepted into the database. The Chincoteague side of the pedigree is listed and the non-Chincoteague side is not. Non-Chincoteague pedigrees are linked to on external sites whenever possible.
The Chincoteague Pony Pedigree Database continually compiles and records/notes from the Pony Penning Auction. They also collect historical records such as photos, pony details, feral herd information, and copies of non-ICPAR registration papers. If you have records you would like to donate please contact the database. This type of information helps them build a collection of data to share with the pony community.
