Pinto Horse Association Of America, Inc.

Picture
The International Chincoteague Pony Association & Registry is an accepted outcross registry of the Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc (PtHA). This means that when you register a pony with ICPAR it is also easy to register your pony with PtHA.
In that past people have had trouble registering their pony as a purebred Chincoteague in the Pinto Association. This has been due to a lack of registration documentation in the breed and Pinto's inability to verify a sires and dams due to the main Chincoteague pony herd being feral. We have contacted Pinto and now that barrier is removed. This means that ICPAR registered ponies are easily accepted into PtHA with their breed and lineage noted.

How you can take advantage of this benefit
  1. Register your Chincoteague pony with ICPAR
  2. Include a copy of your ICPAR papers when you apply for your Pinto papers (make sure you fill out their forms and include the required fees)

Why double register?
  • To show with the PtHA
  •  Educate others about the Chincoteague pony breed
  • Create more value for your pony by having it double registered
  • Represent the Chincoteague pony breed in the PtHA circuits

Pinto registration is completely optional, as a registry we always suggest registering your pony as a purebred Chincoteague first as it helps us protect and preserve the breed. However, if you want to show then we suggest double registration as PtHA offers showing opportunities that we do not.
