Pinto Horse Association Of America, Inc.

Picture
The International Chincoteague Pony Association & Registry is an accepted outcross registry of the Pinto Horse Association of America Inc. This means that when you register a pony with ICPAR it is also easy to register your pony with the Pinto Association of America.
At times people have had trouble registering their pony as a purebred Chincoteague in the Pinto Association. This has been due to a number of reasons such as lack of documentation and Pinto's inability to verify the pony's sire and dam due to the herd being feral. We have contacted Pinto and have now had that barrier removed by becoming an accepted outcross registry. This means that those who register their ponies with ICPAR have the benefit of also being easily accepted into the Pinto Horse Association of America with their pony's breed and lineage noted.

How you can take advantage of this benefit
  1. First, register your Chincoteague pony with ICPAR
  2. Then, include a copy of your ICPAR papers when you apply for your Pinto papers (make sure you fill out their required forms and include the required fees)
  3. Have your pony registered as a Chincoteague pony with their sire and dam documented and enjoy the benefits of having your pony double registered!

Why double register?
  • Ability to show with the Pinto Association
  •  Educate others about the Chincoteague pony breed
  • Create more value for your pony by having it double registered
  • Represent the Chincoteague pony breed and share the breed with people in the Pinto world

Pinto registration is completely optional, as a registry we always suggest registering your pony as a purebred Chincoteague first as it helps us protect and preserve the breed. However, if you want to show then we suggest double registration as Pinto offers a lot of showing opportunities that we do not.
